26 Goals

Filed under: Uncategorized — littleredwren @ 3:53 pm

First, something cute:

(I made three sets of these tiny amigurumi animals, pillows, and blankets for my daughter and two of my nieces for Christmas. I am now obsessed and want to make a million more.)

Now, on to my New Year’s post. I started making out my list of “resolutions” and realized they were all goals. I tried to think of one per week, but that is a lot of goals! So I settled for one for every other week, which might be more reasonable anyway. Most of them I can accomplish in a week, with a few exceptions (like losing 15 pounds. Sigh. If only.)

1. Let’s just kick it off with the one we all have in common, lose weight. 15 pounds to be exact.

2. Paint the guest bathroom.

3. Do 15 minutes of “extras” around the house every day – pull weeds, dust, donate items, etc.

4. Complete Wren’s tiny amigurumi collection

5. And make a house for them to live in

6. Make a quilt from my existing fabric stash

7. And another

8. And another

9. And another still

10. Find the perfect pair of glasses

11. Buy a nicer pair of gym shoes than the $3 pairs I bought from Old Navy

12. Create some new holiday card templates for next year

13. Start a savings account for Wren

14. And one for Van, too

15. Garage sale the hell out of this summer

16. Find replacements for our bedroom sconces that aren’t completely our style anymore

17. Sew a nativity set, preferably during the summer?

18. Go to Disneyland. A lot.

19.Β  Stop leaving sippy cups in the car. Especially the milk ones. Pleh.

20. Participate in The Queen Bee Market again.

21. And possibly another fair?

22. Clean my craft closet

23. Organize our bathroom cupboards

24. Finally get water storage

25. And add to our food storage

26. Kiss my beautiful husband and children. A lot. Like too much.

  2. I like the resolution list. We have VERY similar goals. My favorites are: 2 3 15 16 18 19 26

We should play those numbers in the lottery.

  3. oh, i am so happy you are back to blogging! i discovered your blog during the kcwc and just love your style. the amigurumi are adorable and the simple box with drawn headboards is such a sweet idea.

can I add a 27th resolution to your list? more blog posts, please!!! ( i know, i know, a total faux pas to add to someone else’s resolution list, but i couldn’t resist)

  4. I love that amigurumi box! You have to bring those to sewing so I can see them in person!

Good list. You are ambitious. My goal this year is to make a list… Eh it’s too late now, maybe next year. πŸ˜‰

I have actually been wanting to make an amigurumi nativity for my mom for like two years now, but I can never find a cute pattern.

  5. I think I need my own anigurami box. That is the cutest thing ever. If I had one, I might have to play with it every single day. Claire so would have loved that. She loved playing with little tiny animals.

Love your list!!! Can’t wait to see what you do with all that amazing talent of your yours!!! You better call me once a month so I can come see all the changes to your house, and the cool quilts! You inspire me.

P.S. Glad to know someone else has Old Navy gym shoes. I guess I better get with it too and buy some actual work out cloths. People look at me like I’m insane because I show up in WalMart stretch jeans. πŸ™‚

  6. that is just the sweetest little thing ever! I want to make one for my son’s little friend since she carries her ‘babies’ everywhere with her! I love your list, so simple yet focused on the important things! I love your last one too, to kiss your little ones more. Because lots of cuddles makes each day so much better!
